About Tatuteket

Tatuteket is a Swedish site dedicated to tattoo facts, history, and culture. We aim to cover everything from the Arctic to Asia — heads, necks, hips, thighs, and everything in between. Here you will find information about historical — famous as well as lesser-known — tattooers, the varied meanings behind motifs, the origins of different styles, and much more. Because this subject is inexhaustible, the site is under constant development. We continually add new material and update content whenever time allows.

If you wish to point something out — perhaps a spelling mistake, a factual error, or something you feel is missing — please feel free to contact us. Please also note that Tatuteket maintains an image archive containing tattoos over 40 years old, to which you are more than welcome to contribute. We are also sincerely grateful for any form of support and are always interested in new partners.

Best regards,
Tatukarien

Note: The name Tatuteket is a combination of the Swedish words for “tattoo” and “library”. Likewise, Tatukarien (my pen name) blends the Swedish words for “tattoo” and “librarian”.
